Vanessa Vaughn

Board Vice-Chair

Vanessa Vaughn, Founder & Chief Resilience Officer of Asfalis Advisors, a Business Resilience Advisory Firm, is also a self-proclaimed Foodie, Travel Enthusiast, Pet-Lover & avid fan of hit TV show, The Profit.

Asfalis Advisors, was created after Vaughn took a particular interest in crisis management, when as a young woman, she found herself caught up in a natural disaster for which her hometown of Atlanta wasn’t prepared.

She refers to this event as “The Perfect Storm”, for many reasons. One reason is that it would spark, what would later become, the foundation of her industry focus & business interest. The second reason, is that it gave her a deeper understanding, compassion & appreciation for victims of crises.

Determined to prevent others from experiencing the same life-threatening circumstances in the future, she immediately went to work for the country emergency management agency and, eventually, brought her passion to global companies.

As the first woman in Georgia to obtain a Bachelor of Arts in Homeland Security and Emergency Management from Savannah State University, including a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina; Vaughn remains committed to helping clients at risk, or actively in crisis, to protect their employees, companies, and reputations.

The advantage that Asfalis Advisors CEO, Vanessa Vaughn, brings to the table, is that she has well-rounded experiences in Crisis Management and Business Continuity. Vaughn applies the same principles to her own business and happens to be a crisis survivor which means she and her team are distinctly qualified to best serve those they support.

Vaughn’s experience with Fortune 500 brands such as, Lowe’s Companies and Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, wherein she implemented resilience programs for $50 billion businesses that impacted over 16 million customers globally, gives her a unique depth of knowledge to offer Asfalis clients.
